Before buying a second-hand boat of any age, it’s crucial to have a pre-purchase survey carried out. This independent inspection could save you thousands by revealing hidden defects before you commit to the sale.

Pre-Purchase Surveys

What happens during the survey?

The survey covers the entire vessel, bow to stern.

We will spend a full working day on board (or longer if necessary), meticulously inspecting all accessible areas, components, and systems.

From structural integrity and moisture levels to electrical systems and safety equipment, no detail is overlooked.

Should any major defects (so-called "showstoppers") be discovered during the inspection, we will contact you immediately so you can reassess your options before proceeding further.

What the report covers:

  • Clearly highlighted essential work for quick reference

  • A breakdown of recommended repairs and maintenance

  • Cost guidance for remedial work (DIY or professional)

  • Advice on how findings may affect resale value, safety, and system suitability

  • Whether the survey confirms the boat is sound or reveals unexpected issues, the goal is always the same: to ensure you have the full picture before making your investment.

What if I have questions about my report?

Once you've received and reviewed your report (usually within 12–24 hours), we are happy to discuss any concerns in detail by phone—at no extra charge.

Our priority is to ensure you fully understand the findings and feel confident in your next steps.
